Qur’an: The Metaphysical Effects of Each Chapter (Surah)
In the name of God, the Kind, the Merciful,
Gods peace and blessings to all~
There are many narrations that talk about the merits of reciting the Qur’an in terms of reward and help in the hereafter, but there are also narrations which talk about the healing and help in this world that can be gained from the Qur’an. These merits can be understood through the metaphysical effects of the Qur’an which aren’t directly mentioned anywhere in the narrations, and are probably far more numerous than what I have listed below.
Each chapter of the Qur’an has an overall spiritual effect, and each verse itself has a specific energy and effect. The verses of Qur’an also have effects on the levels of destiny and karma (which are difficult to describe and not something I would attempt to do). Often times the energy from a single verse is usually related to what is mentioned in the verse. For example:
– verses which mention the ‘stars’ (ie. 16:16, 56:75, etc.) usually activate the third eye
– verses which mention ‘love’ in a good context (ie. 5:54, 85:14, etc.) carry energies of divine love
– verses with the oft-mentioned phrase of ‘no fear nor grief..’ (ie. 2:38, etc.) remove those low vibes and bring calm
– verses which speak of Moses striking his staff and ’12 rivers gushing forth’ (ie. 2:60, etc.) improve energy flow in all 12 energy meridians
– verse 2:74 helps to improve the energy of gemstones
– verse 4:54 which speaks of ‘envy’ removes those blockages in the sacral chakra that can create unnecessary jealousy in a person.
– verses which speak of the story of Prophet Lut (upon him be peace), remove a polluted kind of energy which settles in the sacral chakra and is related to homosexuality (it is a spiritual disease, and has a very dirty spiritual manifestation).
– verses which mention “taking away of the sight” (ie. 2:20, 24:43), and verses 68:51-52 can remove the effects of evil-eye.
– verses which speak about the story of Prophet Musa (upon him be peace) in relation to magic (ie. 7:117-122, 10:81-82, 20:67-70), as well as verse 2:102 can remove different forms of black magic.
The list below is far from complete and might not be entirely accurate as they are based on my fallible observations. If anyone knows more than what I’ve presented here, please comment and let me know, and I’ll add it to the list~
#1 Surah al-Fatihah (The Opening)
This chapter is known for it’s ability to heal any ailment, and this might be because the 7 verses contain the 7 chakra colours starting from violet and going to red.
#2 Surah al-Baqarah (The Cow)
This chapter literally does everything. It aligns, balances, activates, and removes blockages from all of the chakras. It brings in a ton of etheric energy into your spirit, and also helps life-force energy rise to the upper centres, and corrects energy flow in the meridians. It also removes shadow energies from the spirit. This chapter is the best if you want to clean up and heal your entire system.
#4 Surah al-Nisa (The Women)
One overall effect of this chapter is to activate, unblock, and clean out the sacral chakra. Verse 4:54 which speaks of ‘envy’ removes those blockages in the sacral chakra that can create unnecessary jealousy in a person.
#5 Surah al-Maa’idah (The Table)
The initial verses which speak of halal & haraam foods activate and heal the solar plexus chakra, especially verses 3, 4, and 5. Verse 3 can remove blockages here that were created from fears.
#9 Surah al-Tawba (The Repentence)
One effect of this chapter is to cause energy to rise/flow in the central channel, as well as to activate and bring energy to the third eye, and also the physical eyes.
#12 Surah Yusuf (Joseph)
One overall effect of this chapter is to activate and gather energy to the upper centres above the head.
#18 Surah al-Kahf (The Cave)
One effect of this chapter is to create feelings of euphoria – I’m not sure how, but I’m thinking this chapter creates a balance of energy flow on the right and left sides of the body (in the ‘ida’ and ‘pingala’ nadis) creating this effect. If you’re listening to the recitation of this chapter, play close attention to the breathing from your nose – generally speaking, both sides are open with even flow indicating a balance of energy flow.
#24 Surah al-Noor / Nur (The Light)
One overall effect of this chapter is to cause life-force energy (chi / prana) to circulate in the body, bringing about feelings of relaxation and calm. I think this chapter also fills you with fresh, clean (orgone?) energy.
#29 Surah al-Ankabut (The Spider)
One overall effect of this chapter is to raise your overall spirit vibration including your aura.
#44 Surah al-Dukhan (The Smoke)
This chapter is good for the brain, and perfect if your mind is feeling cloudy / foggy / groggy. This chapter brings high vibes to the mind.
#46 Surah al-Ahqaf (The Dunes)
I’m not entirely sure, but I think one effect of this chapter is to transmute negative / low vibrational energy into positive / high vibrational energy.
#51 Surah al-Dhariyat (The Winnowing Winds)
One effect of this chapter is to activate the crown chakra and the third eye.
#53 Surah al-Najm (The Star)
I’m not sure here, but I think this chapter activates the soul star chakra above the head.
#56 Surah al-Waqiah (The Inevitable)
One overall effect of this chapter is the energy of abundance. If you want to attract abundance and want energies of abundance, this is the chapter to make it happen.
#57 Surah al-Hadeed (The Iron)
This chapter brings to you a very strong and hard energy, as an overall effect. It fits with the name of the chapter being “The Iron.” Basically if this was a physical energy instead of a spiritual energy, you would feel as if you could punch through any brick or concrete wall and remain unscathed. You literally feel as solid, and hard, and strong as metal. However, even though this is a very solid energy, it isn’t able to prevent / remove evil-eye, or black magic.
#58 Surah al-Mujadilah (The Pleading Woman)
One overall effect of this chapter is to fill you with high vibrational energies of happiness.
#59 Surah al-Hashr (The Exile)
I’m not sure the exact effects here, but this is a very weighty, or heavy chapter. It fills you with a clean and heavy energy.
#63 Surah al-Munafiqoon (The Hypocrites)
This chapter works on the heart chakra.
#66 Surah al-Tahreem (The Prohibition)
This chapter has effects on the sacral chakra. It can activate and somewhat clear the sacral chakra.
#72 Surah al-Jinn (The Jinn)
One overall effect of this chapter is to clean and refresh the aura, and remove low vibrations.
#85 Surah al-Burooj (The Constellations)
One overall effect of this chapter is to activate the third eye chakra, front and back.
#91 Surah al-Shams (The Sun)
One overall effect of this chapter is to activate the solar plexus.
#94 Surah al-Inshirah (The Consolation)
This chapter works on the heart centre.
#113 Surah al-Falaq (The Dawn)
This chapter is known for treating black magic of sorts, and I have actually witnessed this chapter remove ‘energy knots’ in the sacral chakra from ‘black magic’.
Again these effects should never be the ‘goal’ of recitation, but rather as a side effect, or else it will only lead to corruption and loss of merit in ones deeds in the hereafter (unless if you are seeking healing or help with some aspect of your life, I suppose that is justifiable). Hopefully by knowing these things, Muslims would be more inclined to recite the Qur’an.
